This beautifully preserved 1909 house, along with it's contents and garden were bequeathed to the people of Loxton by Mrs Ella Kingdon.

Tours of the historic house are available every Sunday at 2.00pm or at other times by appointment. A small fee applies.

The garden is open for the general public to wander through and to bring food and drinks to enjoy amongst the peaceful surrounds.

Now in its 26th year, Loxton Christmas Lights is a celebration of Christmas and presents a scene of total magic to locals and visitors, with displays creating a world of colour, fairy lights and wonder. The festival commences on Saturday, November 25th when the lights of Loxton will be officially turned on and runs until December 31st. Popular features include: • ‘Loxton Lights Up’ Festival – a day crammed with activities, entertainment and street markets, concluding with a spectacular fireworks display. • Santa’s Walk – a cluster of streets featuring over 400 paintings and light displays. • Christmas Wonderland – a magnificent display proudly erected by a retired fruitgrower which now covers the entire 250 metre frontage of his property. • Street Decorations – attractive banners, tinsel designs, garlands and lights including a 10-metre high Christmas tree feature throughout the main street and other thoroughfares. • Big Santa and Cave – situated at the top of East Terrace – a place where children can visit Santa and tell him of their Christmas wish list. • The Christmas Tree Festival which features 40-50 trees creatively decorated to a different theme each year and a one-day Craft Fair.

Little Town productions have been enjoyed by thousands of people since the first Christmas production in 1999, and has become an integral part and highlight of the Loxton Lights Up festivities. Once again we invite you to join us and be captivated by the story of the nativity as told through the eyes of people who were there, allowing them to experience all of the humour, emotion and majesty of an event which ultimately changed the world. Ten 1 hour performances will be held over the two weekends leading up to Christmas, including great music, choir, costumes, sound/lighting, special outside entertainment including the Bethlehem Bakehouse, and an entertaining storyline that will guarantee to make you both laugh and be moved to tears, as you enjoy the whole Little Town experience.
